This Saturday for the last time to the mountains of Antarctica | Polarjournal

The history of mountaineering in Antarctica is basically as old as the history of Antarctic exploration itself. After all, the call of the mountains and the challenge of climbing the highest point of a continent have always attracted people to Antarctica. In the third and last part of the blog series “Antarctica – White Giants”, mountaineer and polar expert Dr. Christoph Höbenreich takes us on a journey through time and explains when, how and why Antarctica’s highest mountain was climbed and why climate protection and mountaineering are closely linked.

Thus, this coming Saturday here with us: Antarctica – White Giants Part III
