After a break of 3 years, Martha and Peter Cerny organized the Advent aperitif, which has already become a tradition, at the Cerny Museum on Saturday, December 17.

˶We organized this at very short notice˝, said Martha Cerny. ˶We are in the middle of preparations for the exhibitions in Vaduz from January 18 to May 7, 2023 and the exhibition at the “North America Native Museum” (NONAM) in Zurich from February 1 to September 2023˝.

Despite the short notice of the invitation, a surprisingly large number of visitors arrived. (Image: Rosamaria Kubny)

The cozy gathering in the museum gave time to admire the various Arctic exhibits and at the same time listen to the explanations of Martha and Peter Cerny over a glass of wine.

˶We were completely surprised how many visitors and friends accepted our invitation˝, said Peter Cerny.

Much to the delight of the guests present, the Cerny’s organized a high quality vocal performance by two opera singers Maria Gritneva and Vitaly Makarenko.

A visit to the Cerny Museum is always worthwhile

The Cerny Museum exhibits works by peoples of the circumpolar regions. Legends, the past and everyday life are reflected in the contemporary works of art. Experiences as well as current challenges of life in the Arctic can be discovered and encourage to deal intensively with one’s own environment.

The museum is operated by the non-profit association “Gemeinsame Arktis” (“Common Arctic”).
