First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East Alexander Krutikov leaves his post after 6.5 years of work in the ministry. This was reported by the news agency East Russia. Krutikov confirmed himself the news on his Facebook account on January 12.
Alexander Krutikov worked in the administration of the Odintsovo Municipality in the Moscow Region before joining the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East in September 2014. He was appointed Deputy Head of the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East on October 7, 2016, and promoted to First Deputy on October 27, 2020.
Alexander Krutikov stressed that the decision to leave the civil service was made a long time ago: “I planned to leave the civil service already in 2018. Then a new area of responsibility stopped. Developing the Arctic over these two years has been more than just professional responsibility for me. At the new workplace, which you will soon learn about, I will definitely continue the work I have started,” Alexander Krutikov announced.
Since 2013 at the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East, Alexander Krutikov has established himself as one of the most effective managers. Under his leadership, a number of initiatives have been successfully implemented and there have been a number of significant government innovations.
Alexander Krutikov’s responsibilities since February 2019 also included the development of the Arctic region in the Russian Federation. According to many experts, in just two years, the team managed not only to reproduce the development mechanisms already formed in the Far East, but also to “significantly surpass” them.
In fact, by the end of 2020, the full range of measures to support investors in the Arctic had been launched, focusing on almost all sizes and types of businesses. The entire Arctic zone of Russia has become the largest special economic zone in the world.
In a very short time, a new Arctic strategy of Russia until 2035 and a state program for the development of the Arctic were prepared and approved. Additional federal funding for the Arctic from 2021 to 2023 is projected at 17.6 billion rubles, which is 50 times more than the original budget projections.
As representatives of the business community have repeatedly noted, throughout his tenure at the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East, Alexander Krutikov was the main driver of the principle of customer orientation in all enterprises of the department. “A public servant who always keeps his word and cares about the bottom line above all else. A person who knows firsthand the bureaucratic obstacles that can exist even in the best of government efforts. Not only did he know about those risks, but knew how to overcome them,” said one of the major entrepreneurs interviewed by EastRussia.
